To the Members of Local 170 The Christmas party was a success this year. We had a lot of members and their families come to enjoy the fun. I want to thank them all for coming and bringing a dish to share. It was a great time! It was also my first time planning and organizing it. It was chaotic at times and I'm sure that I seemed like a crazy person occasionally. But, it was such a great experience. I would like to say thank you specifically to a few people. Thank you to Arnie for taking care of the food and drinks and listening to my endless chatter about the party. Your patience with me was amazing. Thank you to Adam and Sonna (and spouses) for helping set things up. Thank you to Martin for your help with decorating, picking things up with me and just everything you did that made things go smooth. You will never fully understand how grateful I am. Thank you also to those of you that stayed behind to help clean up. I'm sure I'm forgetting so many people, I'm simply overwhelmed, still.

As you all know, the party was in honor of Monica Raby, clerk from Pemberville. She passed away a few months before Christmas. We wanted to give her three kids a great Christmas, and we succeeded. The amount of donations we received to buy her kids presents was incredible. Thank you to all the members, officers and any other individual that donated. There were two very important people that were a huge part of this endeavor. Lisa Smith (Wayne) and Leah Keyes (Pemberville) were absolutely wonderful. They spent countless hours shopping for gifts and wrapping them. Their hearts are pure gold. The kids came to the party and had a great time. There were many tears, and many hugs. This is what makes me proud to be a part of this local. If you ever doubt how great Local 170 is, look at the pictures of the kids. You'll soon understand why we are lucky to have the group of people we do to represent Local 170.

In solidarity and much love,
Jen Lemke
Clerk Craft Director
